The Artist Company

The Artist Company section in Overture is designed to associate an artist with a specific company, ensuring consistency across bookings. When an Artist Company is added to a booking, any correspondence between the artist and either your team or the promoter will automatically use the Artist Company contact instead of the artist’s individual contact. This is particularly helpful when generating and sending documentation, as it directs all formal communication through the specified company.

Creating Documents

In this example Prime Artist’s Inc. are the Artist Company and Taylor Promotions are the promoter, when generating a contract the options available reflect that an Artist’s Company are being used and give the options accordingly.

Linking Artists to Artist Companies

An essential function of the Artist Company section is that it automatically carries over the specified contact from the previous booking for that artist. This means that if a company is set in the Artist Company section of one booking, the same company contact will automatically populate in the Artist Company section of the next booking for that artist, ensuring continuity and consistency across bookings.

So in the example above, if we have just added Emily Carter from Prime Artists Inc. for the first time as the Artist Company for Harmonic Quartet, Overture will remember this and use the same Artist Company for the next booking for Harmonic Quartet.

Updating the Artist Company

If the Artist Company contact is changed or was incorrect in the previous booking, the incorrect or updated contact will be carried forward to the next booking. Also, if no Artist Company is assigned or if it is removed from a booking, then there will be no company associated with the artist in the next booking.

This feature ensures that the company details for an artist are consistent across bookings but also requires careful management if updates or corrections are made. For accurate records, always verify that the Artist Company information in the previous booking is correct, especially if there have been recent changes to the artist’s representation.

By keeping the Artist Company section updated, you can ensure smooth transitions and accurate contact details across all bookings for your artists.
