The Team Members feature in Overture allows you to assign responsibility for artists, bookings, and contacts to specific users within your company. This helps keep work organised, makes responsibilities clear, and links directly to your commission reporting.
What Are Team Members?
A Team Member is any internal user in Overture who can be assigned responsibility for an artist, booking, or contact.
Assigning Team Members helps clarify who is responsible for what and ensures they appear in filters and reports.
-
System Defaults – Team Member defaults (including commission percentages) are managed on the Artist’s Further Information page. These defaults will automatically appear whenever you create a new booking for that artist.
-
Booking Assignments – You can also assign or adjust Team Members directly on an individual booking. This does not change the artist’s system defaults — it only applies to that specific booking.
This approach ensures consistency across your account while giving you the flexibility to tailor Team Member responsibilities case by case.
Team Member Roles
-
Team Members are grouped by roles, which you can create and customise in Settings > Team Member Roles.
-
Roles can reflect the structure of your business (e.g., Agent, Assistant, Manager, Booker).
-
The role Agent is a primary role type and cannot be removed or renamed. This ensures consistency for core reporting.
-
All other roles can be customised to suit your workflow.
Assigning Team Members
You can assign Team Members in a few key areas of Overture:
-
Artists (Further Information page) – Each artist has a Team Members setting where you can assign internal users as that artist’s default Team Members. Here you can also set a default commission amount for each person. These defaults will automatically appear when new bookings are created for the artist.
-
Bookings – Team Members can be selected directly on the booking page. If default Team Members have already been set on the artist’s contact record, those details will pre-populate on the booking, including any default commission amounts. You can adjust or add to these as needed for that specific booking.
This setup gives you flexibility: you can establish default responsibilities at the artist level while still being able to tailor Team Member assignments on a booking-by-booking basis.
Commission Amounts
Team Members can be assigned a commission percentage on bookings. This makes it possible to share earnings between multiple people involved in the deal.
-
Artist Defaults – Commission amounts set on the artist’s Further Information page will carry through automatically to new bookings.
-
Booking Adjustments – On the booking page, you can update or override commission percentages to reflect the specific agreement for that booking.
-
Multiple Team Members – Commission can be split between several Team Members, with each person assigned their own percentage.
Commission information is connected to the Commission Report, giving you a clear breakdown of how income is distributed across your team.
