Push Notifications allow you to send real-time updates from Overture directly to artists using the Overture Artist App. They’re perfect for communicating last-minute changes, reminders, or confirmations instantly.

Before You Begin
To successfully send and receive push notifications, a few conditions must be met:
-
The artist must be set up as an External User in Overture.
-
Only External Users can access the Artist App.
-
To check, go to Settings > Users and check that the artist is listed as an External User.
-
-
The External User must be connected to the App.
-
This is managed in Settings > Users.
-
Ensure the Artist App is connected to the External User.
See here for a full guide for setting up Artists on the App:
-
-
Notifications must be enabled on the artist’s mobile device.
-
Artists must allow notifications from the Overture Artist App on their phone for messages to appear. See below for instruction.

Scroll down and tap Overture.

-
Tap Notifications.

-
Turn on Allow Notifications.

(Choose your preferred alert style (Lock Screen, Notification Centre, or Banners).
Android
-
Open Settings on your phone.
-
Tap Apps & notifications (or Notifications, depending on device).

- Tap App Settings
-
Find and select Overture Artist App and toggle it On

Tips for Effective Notifications
-
Keep messages concise and relevant.
-
Use clear titles that summarise the purpose (e.g. “Venue change” or “Soundcheck update”).
-
Only notify those directly affected to avoid unnecessary alerts.
Troubleshooting
If an artist does not receive a notification:
-
Confirm artist is an External User with Artist App Access enabled.
- Ensure the Artist App is installed and logged in with the correct user account.
-
Check that their device notifications are turned on.
-
If issues persist, ask the artist to restart the app or their device.
